Chineham

Chineham is a village in the County of Hampshire, located in South-East England, United Kingdom. It can be found on the northern outskirts of the town of Basingstoke, and has in recent years become a major residential area.

The Public Library is located within the District Shopping Centre - opposite Tesco's. (Closed on Mondays.)

The nearest Reference Library is in Basingstoke Town Centre's Potters Walk.

The nearest Post Office is also located within the District Shopping Centre - in the Newsagents (but you will need to go to the Basingstoke town centre office in London Street for Vehicle Licences)

The Village Hall site on Thornhill Way hosts a thriving Social Club and a children's play area.

The local Pub is The Chineham Arms on Hanmore Road (close to the junctions with Thornhill Way and Bowman Road).

Churches

Chineham Community Church meets at Four Lanes School and several other venues - full details from the Chineham Community Church Web site.

Christ Church , off the Reading Road, is a 'local ecumenical partnership' with formal participation from the Church of England, the Methodist Church, and the United Reformed Church - full details available from the Christ Church Web site.

Chineham Doctors' Surgery is on the Reading Road - Tel 479244.

Pharmacy - 'Night Owl' - at the Guinea Court Shops is open 7 days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. (except Bank Holidays when the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) - Tel 479338.

Dental Surgery is adjacent to the Guinea Court Shops - Tel 840141; another is at 54 Reading Road - Tel 469004.

The nearest Optician is located in the District Shopping Centre - Tel 327564.

The nearest Veterinary Surgery is in Old Basing at 16 The Street - Tel 329522.

Schools

Apart from the District Shopping Centre (off the A33 'Tesco Roundabout'), Chineham's local Guinea Court shops are located at the mini-roundabout end of Bowman Road: They include a Pharmacy, Off-Licence and a general store - all open 7 days a week.

Also, on the Reading Road, there is a general store adjacent to the Q8 petrol station - open 7 days a week.
