The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award
Charter for Business
is a development designed to extend the reach
of the Award to young people involved in Business or Commerce.
More than 300 organisations in the UK currently hold licenses to
operate the Award, including a nation-wide network of Local
Authorities.
Many are active in supporting the development of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
in Business and have formed effective partnerships at local level.
In addition, in some areas, special initiatives known as Industrial
Projects have been formed offering dedicated support.

How do young people
benefit from the Award ?
In their own words ...
- "It gave me a talking point in
interviews."
- "It taught me how to be part of a
team."
- "I felt responsible for others, it probably helped me grow
up more quickly. This was important in my working environment. It gave me
confidence to take control."
- "It developed my self-reliance. It encouraged me to think
for myself."
How Can You Make It Happen
?
Your Company can be involved in these partnerships by
encouraging employees under 23 to participate and those who are older to
enhance their skills and qualifications by becoming volunteer leaders.
Find out more about what business is already doing for the
Award by visiting the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Web site.
If your Company is in the City of London, why not

your organisation?
