AD2000 - Two thousand years
since Christ began his mission on earth: A birthday worth celebrating with
flowers and song. During Pentecost 2000, the Holy Ghost Parish, Basingstoke,
held a Flower Festival and hosted a concert (given by the Wessex Chamber
Choir). This tribute to the Jubilee celebrations was made both by enjoying the
beauty of nature and music in the church and taking the opportunity to give
enjoyment to others.
All the proceeds of the festival went to support two
charities,
May Place House Hostel for the Homeless, and CAFOD.
